well a long time ago i was a moose hunter, but in my old age i'm more of a moose hugger...

in the winter we feed moose that wander across the property alfalfa to keep them going if its really cold or the snow is deep...

i'd appreciate it if you didn't mention that to the authorities, cause they would prefer we didn't...

the story behind my avatar...

i was up at my cabin which is located in thick brown bear country...it was in the spring just after the moose had dropped their calves...i heard the splashing in the lake and knew something was coming up the shore, it could have been a moose, a black or brown bear...but whatever i had the camera ready and took the shot...when i saw it was moose and the direction they were headed i knew they were in trouble...about 20 brown bear were a quarter mile away on the nearest creek and the salmon were not running yet...within an hour both of them were gone...
